STIs among U.S. adults 55+ more than doubled in the decade to 2022.

"Is it safe to start dating again at 67?"
The questions no one asks out loud, answered with care.
Desire doesn't retire. But shame keeps older adults from asking the questions that keep them healthy — so infections rise in silence. Amaranth is a private, voice-first companion for intimate health after 55: honest answers, discreet guidance, and a warm voice that never judges.

The quiet epidemic
Rising infections. Total silence.
Only about one in six adults 65–80 had discussed sexual health with their doctor in the past two years.
Countries where later-life STI rises are documented include the U.S., U.K., Japan, South Korea, and more.
National surveillance reports
These aren't statistics about carelessness. They're statistics about silence — no education, no screening prompts, and no one who asks.
Why it happens
Three silences, one outcome.
Desire doesn't retire.
Widowhood, divorce, and long lives mean new relationships at 60, 70, and beyond. The need for connection is healthy and human — it's the support around it that disappeared.
Shame closes every door.
Many older adults would rather take a risk than let their children — or their doctor — know they're intimate at all. When the safe options feel unspeakable, unsafe ones fill the gap.
Care never asks.
Sex education ended decades ago, pregnancy is no longer the worry, and routine checkups rarely raise the topic. So no one screens, no one counsels, and infections surface by accident — if at all.
What we're building
A companion for the conversation you can't have anywhere else.
Amaranth is a voice-first AI health companion made for older adults — because talking is easier than typing, and easier than facing a waiting room. It answers plainly, remembers kindly, and keeps everything private.
Ask anything, out loud.
Speak naturally about dating, intimacy, protection, testing, medications, or grief — and get clear, medically grounded answers in a warm voice. No forms, no small screens, no judgment.
A discreet path to real care.
When something needs a professional — a screening, a symptom, a prescription — Amaranth helps arrange it quietly: what to ask for, where to go, and how to keep it your business.
Privacy as the product.
No family notifications. No shared accounts. Conversations are yours alone, protected by design, because we know exactly why that matters.
Not adult content. Not a dating app. Health care for a part of life medicine forgot.
Why we're building this
This company began with a diagnosis in our own family — one discovered by accident, and never spoken about since. We're not building this because the market is large (it is). We're building it because that silence reaches millions of families — and silence is a design problem. It can be fixed.
— The founders
For families
If you're here for a parent: the kindest thing you can offer is privacy with a safety net. Amaranth lets your parent get real answers and real care without surrendering their dignity — or their secrets — to anyone, including you. Join the waitlist and we'll show you how that works.
For clinicians
If you work in primary care, telehealth, or with geriatric care teams: you already know the screening gap. We're looking for clinical advisors and pilot partners who want to close it. Choose "clinician" on the waitlist form — we read every note.
Be first to know.
We'll email you when Amaranth opens — nothing else, ever. Unsubscribe anytime.
FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
Is this adult content?
No. Amaranth is a health product. Conversations can cover intimacy honestly — the way a good doctor would — but the product does not produce explicit content.
Who can see my conversations?
You. Not your family, not your contacts. We're designing privacy in from the first line of code, and we'll publish our privacy practices in plain language before launch.
Is this a replacement for my doctor?
No. Amaranth gives general health information and helps you get to real clinicians discreetly. It doesn't diagnose or prescribe.
What will it cost?
The waitlist is free. We're exploring pricing with early users — join and tell us what would be fair.
When does it launch?
